in good company
We’re proud to feature three small businesses who bring their own heart, creations, and personality to our food menu. Our partners help shape what makes Coffee Sarap feel like home. From the Filipino comfort food of Paborito, to the handmade pastries from Black Box Bakery, and the masarap (!) pastries from Cakeheads Bakery... each adds something uniquely special to our table. Their contributions to our shop reminds us that small businesses thrive best when we choose to grow together. We invite you to discover, patron, and shout them out beyond our cafe. :)

A Filipino American artisan bakery based in Centennial, CO, Cakeheads Bakery has been owned and operated by Cherrie and Brad Isroff since 2007. This husband and wife duo crafts both familiar classics and beloved Filipino favorites like pandesal, ensaymada, mamon, sylvannas, and savory empanadas and siopao. Their products are featured in natural food markets throughout the Rocky Mountain region, while their Filipino Heritage Line is proudly served at both Coffee Sarap and their Centennial storefront. Guided by their Filipino and Jewish roots, Cakeheads Bakery continues to create baked goods and experiences that celebrate culture, community, and connection.

Jayson and Ged, we’re life and business partners sharing the flavors we grew up with. Jayson’s the chef, Ged’s your friendly server-turned-restaurant boss, and together we decided to start sharing the flavors we miss from back home. We run out of a ghost kitchen here in Denver. No dine-in, just good filipino food for takeout, delivery, catering, and our burritos that you can find it at Coffee Sarap! Our lineup? Pork Longganisa, Chicken Tocino, and Beef Tapa. all made with love and a taste of home. Come check us out and find your new paborito!

Black Box Bakery was founded by a group of friends as a promising side project in the fall of 2019. They made a connection with the owners of Ironton Distillery and used their kitchen in the middle of the night to begin growing their wholesale accounts. Over the next year their wholesale business continued to grow and there was need for expansion. They moved into The Renaissance Hotel in October 2020 to use their banquets kitchen and grow their team. For the next two years the Black Box Bakery Team began to search for potential retail locations until they toured Edgewater Public Market. In early 2022 they made the leap to sign the lease and start construction at Edgewater Public Market. We are very excited to welcome you to our first retail location!

Colorado Cocoa Pod was started by ex-software engineer turned chocolatier Liane Pensack-Rinehart in 2019. After going back to pastry school and working in a variety of chocolate shops and bakeries, Liane decided to start her own chocolate bonbon business out of her home to bring more Asian flavors and ideas to the chocolate community. Starting in her kitchen & home chocolate lab, after 6 years of so much support, she now works out of a commercial kitchen in Denver. You can find Colorado Cocoa Pod's hand painted, never too pretty to eat chocolate bonbons and variety of Asian flavor inspired confections at holiday markets and coffee shop pop-ups all over Colorado, as well as online for shipping, porch pick-up, and local delivery.
